We’re back!

The Triplex reopened on November 17th. Visit us at www.thetriplex.org for showtimes, tickets, and to stay up to date on our journey.

Join us today and help the grassroots community nonprofit continue to bring back the movies.

Thanks to more than 1,000 individual donations, our nonprofit purchased the Triplex Cinema in July 2023.

It’s now time to continue to support our mission, and help us bring the cinema to it’s fullest potential.

Now that we have purchased the building and business, Triplex Cinema, Inc. is working with the local Allegrone Construction to make immediate upgrades before our reopening. Allegrone Construction is the contractor that renovated the Mahaiwe Theater, and the Beacon Cinema.

In order to complete the initial renovation work and reopen the theater we need to raise $1.7 million by the end of the year. To date, thanks to 1,000+ individuals giving amounts both big and small, we have raised $913,000.

Whether you can give $5 or five times that, 100% of your donation will help reopen our theater. You can help bring back the movies!

Join more than 1,000 donors and support the heart space of Great Barrington.

FAQs

  • We are an all-volunteer group of community members who are working to save the Triplex movie theater in Great Barrington. Meet the board and learn more.

  • Our board and committees for Save the Triplex are made up of all volunteers (many of them highly successful in their particular fields) and the list includes the former long-time manager of the Triplex and the Beacon John Valente and the long-time film buyer Adam Birnbaum. Mr. Birnbaum, who books films for over 50 cinemas, the majority of which are nonprofits, believes that "the only path forward for the Triplex would be by way of the nonprofit model."
