About Us

Save the Triplex is a nonprofit, grassroots organization founded on April 1, 2023. The original group came together after 45+ residents came together in early April to vote on what to do about the cinema closing. The decision on action was unanimous—the community wants a nonprofit cinema at the heart of Great Barrington.

On July 24, 2023 our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization purchased the theater from former owner Richard Stanley.
